An application has been submitted by General Development Company for approval to construct a 60,502 square foot corporate office building for Hutchinson on a 5.47 acre parcel located on the west side of Cross Creek Parkway, between University Drive and High Meadow Circle.

The property is situated within the Oakland Technology Park, just south of the Delphi building

French-based Hutchinson is made up of five divisions in North America. Four of them focus on the automotive industry with a fifth dedicated to aerospace and defense.  Their automotive divisions in Auburn Hills include anti-vibration and belt drive systems, fluid management systems, body sealing, and precision sealing systems.

The City of Auburn Hills is pleased that Hutchinson, currently located at 1060 Centre Road, has chosen to remain in our community for an additional 15 years under their new lease with General Development Company.  They originally moved to Auburn Hills in 2000.  An estimated 225 people will be employed at the new facility.

Site Plan

The total investment in the project is estimated at $8 million.  Upon approval, construction is anticipated to begin next month and be complete by June 2018.

Those interested in learning more about this proposal are encouraged to attend the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall.  A final decision on the application is anticipated to be made by the City Council on Monday, April 24th.
