Valeo North America Inc. has submitted plans to the City to construct a 1,236 foot long high-speed test track, low-speed surface testing area, and ancillary building adjacent to their existing 120,000 research and development facility located at 4100 N. Atlantic Boulevard.  The site is home to their Thermal Systems Business Group North American Headquarters.

Proposed test track complex

The company is a subsidiary of Paris-based Valeo SA, an automotive technology supplier.  The Thermal Systems Business Group develops and manufactures systems, modules and components to ensure thermal energy management of the powertrain and comfort for each passenger during all phases of vehicle use.  These systems help to significantly reduce fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and other pollutants and harmful particles from vehicles equipped with internal combustion engines.  The company also works to increase travel range and battery life for hybrid and electric vehicles.

Those interested in learning more about this proposal are encouraged to attend the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, June 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall.  A final decision on the application is anticipated to be made by the City Council on Monday, June 26th.
