Five Points Community Church Proposes Expansion

Fpc Building 2017

Posted by – Steve Cohen, Director of Community Development

We’re pleased to report that Five Points Community Church has submitted plans to expand their existing facility, located at 3411 Walton Boulevard, to meet the needs of their growing congregation.  This project has been many years in the making for this dynamic church that has served our community since 1940.

Rendering of the proposed church expansion

The church proposes to construct a 16,019 square foot addition, which will be located on the north side of the existing building.  The addition will include offices, a commons room, youth group rooms, nursery rooms, and a large gathering area.

Site Plan

Their plans also call for the demolition of the southern wing (original church building built in 1952), as well as the removal of a garage and existing one-story concrete block building located on the southwest portion of the property.  Once the expansion is complete, the overall size of the church will equal 41,601 square feet.

The total investment in the project is estimated at $3.2 million.  Construction is anticipated to begin in May 2017 and be complete by December 2017.

Those interested in learning more about this proposal are encouraged to attend the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 15th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall.  A final decision on the application is anticipated to be made by the City Council on Monday, March 27th.
