An application has been submitted to the City of Auburn Hills to allow the construction of a 96-room, Hilton Garden Inn hotel.  The site of the new three-story building will be located at 3900 Baldwin Road adjacent to Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, directly east of the TownePlace Suites hotel.

This will be Basil Bacall’s fourth hotel along the mall’s western ring road, which will make available a total of 348 rooms for visitors and business travelers.  Previous hotels constructed in the vicinity are the Holiday Inn Express (Y2007 – 90 rooms), Hampton Inn (Y2011 – 80 rooms), and TownePlace Suites (Y2015 – 82 rooms).

Those interested in learning more about this proposal are encouraged to attend the public hearing at the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 5th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall.  A final decision on the project is anticipated to be made by the City Council on Monday, October 24th.

Construction of the new hotel is anticipated to start in Spring 2017 and will take 12 to 14 months to build.
