It was a lot of fun!  Yesterday, various officials and dignitaries marked the ground breaking for Auburn Hills’ newest attraction – LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets.  The event was also celebrated with the help of a very lucky 2nd grade class from R. Grant Graham Elementary School

Mayor McDaniel participated in one of the most unique ground breaking ceremonies we have seen.

LEGOLAND Discovery Centers are unique indoor attractions based on the popular LEGO brick.  The attraction will cater to families with children aged three to 10, offering interactive and educational experiences.  It will be the perfect complement to our community—while our companies are busy building cars and other automotive components, robots, and buildings – residents and visitors can come here to experience a LEGO-themed ride, 4-D cinema, and a “miniland” with Metro Detroit area landmarks constructed entirely of LEGO bricks.

Operated by British-based leisure company Merlin Entertainments, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Michigan will be Merlin’s eighth Discovery Center to open in the United States once complete in the spring of 2016.
