Its name is a mouthful … “Villa Montage Luxe Active Adult Resort” … but, it sounds fancy! If developed as envisioned, it will be one of the premier housing developments in Auburn Hills.
Last night, the Planning Commission voted to schedule a public hearing for Tuesday, August 18th at 7:00 p.m. to review a request submitted by Auburn Hills-based Moceri Companies to amend the Northeast Corner Neighborhood Master Plan to allow a residential open space conservation development called Villa Montage at a density of up to 3.2 homes per acre, in lieu of the City’s current policy for the area of 2.5 homes per acre. The 29.54 acre site is located at 3995 N. Squirrel Road.
The requested master plan change would facilitate the development of the proposed 88-unit detached home condominium project. It will be designed as a 55+ active adult community and will include a pool, clubhouse, walking trails, and other amenities. Moceri wishes to start construction by Spring 2017. The project is similar in concept to the nearby Heritage in the Hills Condominiums development. The slight increase in density (approximately 18 additional homes) is requested by Moceri to create the critical mass needed for the future Villa Montage homeowners association to support the maintenance and upkeep costs of the community.
The public hearing will be held in the Council Chamber at City Hall. All are welcome to attend.
