Sometime this week expect to see another digital billboard “light-up” along I-75 in Auburn Hills. Advertising company CBS Outdoor has just replaced the old antiquated billboard at the Superior Concrete site located south of Auburn Road, west of I-75.
Many are not aware that the number of billboard signs permitted along I-75 in Auburn Hills is capped by the City’s Zoning Ordinance. Thus, no new billboards can be added unless the City Council makes provisions for them. There are a total of seven billboards along this stretch of highway – five of them are anticipated to become digital by the end of this year.
As part of this changeover in technology, CBS Outdoor has partnered with the City of Auburn Hills to provide significant advertisement space on its digital billboards at no cost to our taxpayers. Thus, the City will be able to promote Downtown Auburn Hills, Fieldstone Golf Club, and numerous events to tens of thousands of motorists each day. These advertisements constitute a present day value of $54,000 annually for the life of the CBS Outdoor digital signs. It’s an outstanding win-win agreement for both parties.
So, check out this new high-tech sign that many believe is fitting for a high-tech town like Auburn Hills.
