New Year … New Beginnings

OK … now that most of us have enjoyed our fill of Halloween candy, Thanksgiving turkey, and Christmas cookies (or should I say overindulged), perhaps it’s time to refocus our attention on our health and fitness.  I personally made my health a priority Thanksgiving night after being overly stuffed by Brennan (B6) and Kate’s awesome meal.  I’ve gone back to vegan eating and strive to walk or swim daily.  So far, so good.

Luckily, there are a number of places in the region where you can go to get a little exercise.  In Auburn Hills, we have one particular facility that offers a pool, running track, weights, exercise equipment, and numerous wellness classes.  The “Y.”

The North Oakland Family YMCA is located at 3387 E. Walton Boulevard (248-370-9622).  Their membership fees are income and age based so they encourage interested people to come try out the facility and talk to them about making a healthy lifestyle choice.

The YMCA has been a fixture in Auburn Hills since its opening back in 2003.

The “Y” is one of those places that makes our town great.   So, check it out.  No day is better than the present!
