I read these quotes on the front page of the Detroit News this morning. They’re not the most encouraging.
“Things are pretty grim in the immediate Detroit region,” said Ken Simonson, chief economist for the Association of General Contractors of America.
“For the last several years, our guys have been hopeful about the next year and thinking there would be a 5-10 percent uptick, only to not have gotten there when the year’s up,” he said. “The new normal doesn’t make anyone happy right now.”
But, interestingly there’s a place mentioned in the article that’s bucking the trend. A place that has found a way to grow in these challenging economic times.
