Looking for something fun to do with the whole family?
On Saturday, June 1st, the iconic German-American Marksmanship Club will hold a ‘Heimat und Spanferkelfest’ or Pig Roast featuring live entertainment and lots of fun. The event is open to the public and will start at 5:00 p.m.
Event organizer Virgina Werner invites all interested to attend. She told us “If you like homemade German food, come on over!”
For almost 75 years, the Club has been a staple of the German community in Metro Detroit providing a social outlet for German-Americans and those looking to preserve German heritage. The group holds monthly meetings and offers marksmanship competitions, home cooked meals, and many fun events on their property located at 2650 Auburn Road. The Club has 120 members and is open to all nationalities.
The cost is $20.00 for dinner and park admission (children under 10 are free, 11 to 16 years of age are half price). The cost for those wishing to skip dinner (admission only) is $4.00.
I wish my Grandpa and Grandma Bremer were still alive. They would have loved this!
