Outdoor Movie Night … Awesome!

Looking for something fun and affordable to do as a family this weekend?  Check this out!

The showing of Toy Story is the first of three outdoor movies planned at the museum this summer

This Saturday, August 4th, the animated family movie Toy Story will be shown outdoors on the terraced hillside located behind the Walter P. Chrysler Museum at One Chrysler Drive.

The fundraiser and outreach event, sponsored by RAM Truck, will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.  The movie starts at sunset.

Admission for the evening is $10 per vehicle.  Museum members with membership cards or guests driving any current model RAM vehicle will receive half-off the price of admission.  Bring your vintage vehicle – all makes and models welcome -to be part of a car show in the parking lot.

All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to the museum’s foundation to allow them to continue great programs, such as their summer Kids Camp.  Families arriving before the movie starts will be given special access into the museum to see 65+ vintage Chrysler vehicles on display on three levels of the facility and an opportunity to view its two new exhibits, “75 Years of Mopar” and “Viper Café.”

A wide range of family activities await those attending throughout the museum property during this fun and entertaining evening under the stars.  Highlights include:

  1. RAM Truck product give-a-ways
  2. Face painting
  3. A balloon artist
  4. DJ music
  5. Ride and drive new RAM trucks
  6. View a display of new RAM trucks, including the new 2013 RAM 1500, and learn from product specialists highlighting vehicle features.

Something really cool … The Green Zebra food truck will be at the event offering food and beverages (additional charges apply).  The Green Zebra will offer fresh salads, sides, sandwiches … and yes, popcorn!

Owners Katie Berschback and Jim Pearce will bring their gourmet fare to you from their food truck

No rain is forecasted, so it’s expected to be a beautiful night.  However, if the weather forecasters mess up – no worries – there’s a backup plan to move the festivities inside the museum.  The event organizers asked us to remind folks to bring their blankets and chairs because movie viewing will take place on the lawn.

So, check out this great “jewel” located right here in the City of Auburn Hills.   This event will be a lot of fun for the whole family!
