What is the solution for a busy life? It is simple. Stop and smell the roses.
Well, that is easier said than done. Like most people with young children, I struggle to maintain a work-life balance. There always seems like some new challenge at work needs to be addressed, an important meeting to attend, or a critical report to write. Something always has to get done. On the flip side, you don’t want to miss your kids’ band concerts, sporting events, or helping them with their homework.
This past weekend, I had an opportunity to have some time away with my nine year old son. It was wonderful. We called it our “man-cation.” The unseasonably warm weather allowed us to go biking and enjoy the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan. However, we had the best time just chilling, watching movies, and talking.
Stop and smell the roses. I am glad I did.
