Yesterday, Spain-based Gestamp opened a new R&D center at 1600 Harmon Road with a wonderful celebration.  The multinational company specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of metal components for the automotive industry

Council Member Henry Knight was on hand to welcome Chairman Francisco J. Riberas and his team to our community.  As a retired General Motors Executive, Mr. Knight was in his element.

This new Auburn Hills location will allow Gestamp to work closer with their OEM customers to co-develop solutions to achieve lighter and safer vehicles.  As part of the grand opening, we were given tours of the R&D facility, which included a 3-D simulation of a vehicle crash that demonstrated how their innovative designs make vehicles safer during such incidents.

We’re so happy to welcome Gestamp to the City of Auburn Hills and wish them the best!
